Laundry Alarm

Erika Roedl & Blake Welch

An Electrical Engineering Senior Design Project for Washington University in St. Louis

Worried that your laundromat is not efficient due to people leaving their laundry in for long periods of time? Have there been complaints of stolen clothing in the apartment building? This project alerts customers when their laundry is done, so laundromats and laundry rooms in apartments are maximized for efficiency, and the washer and dryer users can leave the laundry room with the assurance that they will know when to return for their clean clothes. Out design is simple and easy to install. Composed of just a sensor, microprocessor with wireless capability, and an LED in a protective case, the product is also cheap and requires no modification of your machines.
